Beneficiary:

With the objective of providing improved animal feed to the cattle rearers of the remote rural hilly areas of Uttarakhand and reducing the burden on the head of hilly women, by preparing packed silage and complete mixed animal feed by adding nutrients with green maize at a subsidized rate, at only Rs 2.75 per kg. available per kg. Under the said scheme, financial assistance is being provided by the state government at the rate of 75 percent subsidy on the selling price of silage at Rs. 9.00 per kg and Rs. 3.00 per kg on expenses like transportation, loading and unloading etc. As a result, silage is being available to the beneficiaries at the rate of Rs 2.75 per kg at their doorstep. Through the scheme, reducing the environmental ill-effects caused by burning of crop residues, improving the health of animals and increasing the income of farmers by increasing milk production. To provide silage/TMR/fodder blocks at concessional rates to the farmer beneficiaries/animal herders of the state. Farmers doing joint cooperative farming of maize are being benefited more and more.
